Endeavor 8000:
The 14 Tallest Peaks
The Next Endeavor:
Baffin Island Expedition 2007
How is global warming really changing our world?
Ed Viesturs is joining renowned Polar explorer and dogsledder Will Steger this spring to expose how global warming is destroying the delicate environment of the Antartic.
Ed and Will, along with Sir Richard Branson and his son Sam, will travel 1,200 miles across Baffin Island, collecting stories, images and sound to post on globalwarming101.com.
The impact of global warming often goes unnoticed throughout the world. Through this expedition, the GlobalWarming 101 Foundation hopes to give those impacted in the Artic a voice by educating all of us about the damage that already exists.

Gasherbrum I
1995 8068m (26470ft) Karakoram Range
Summit: July 15, 1995
Gasherbrum I (Hidden Peak) was the 4th 8000m peak Ed climbed during a 10-week trip Because they were already acclimated from climbing Everest, Makalu, and Gasherbrum II in the preceding weeks, Viesturs and his partners were able to reach this summit in a blistering 30 hours from base camp.
"In the end, we were feeling so strong that we climbed all the way from base camp to the summit of Gasherbrum I in only 30 hours. In some sense, it was my strongest performance yet on an 8,000er."
